Professional Forestry Education for the First Time in Telangana State
FCRI Hyderabad, the brain child of our visionary Chief Minister
Sri. K Chandrashekar Rao, is established in the year 2016.
Curriculum includes professional forestry courses along with biological, environmental, social and management sciences. It enables exposure to fundamental principles of multiple use forestry and ecosystem management.
An Integrated forestry syllabi in accordance with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) at national level to cater the needs of local and global.
The balanced academic programme unlocks the potential and hones the strengths and abilities of individuals to gain confidence to push one towards new horizons. The Mentorship programme will guide the students for academic excellence.

The professional forestry education is introduced for the first time in Telangana State under the visionary guidance of Hon`ble Chief Minister, Telangana Sri. K. CHANDRASHEKAR RAO.
It is aimed at bringing out forestry professionals by introducing B.Sc(Hons.) Forestry, M.Sc. Forestry and PhD. Forestry programmes.
The institution is also aimed at providing an outstanding learning environment, promoting research, management and outreach to the farmers.
Dr. Chiranjeeva is an Assistant Professor of
Silviculture in the department of Silviculture and Agroforestry. He
is having more than 2 years of research and teaching experience at
Forest College and Research Institute, Mulugu.He obtained his
Doctorate in Forestry with specialization in
Silviculture. He has got his master’s degree in forestry with
specialization in Plantation technology.
He has obtained Junior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Agricultural Research for the year 2010- 2012 and the recipient of Inspire Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for the year 2013-2018.
Dr. Shivaputra Bammanahalli is an Assistant
Professor of Agroforestry in the Department of Silviculture and
Agroforestry. He completed Master of Science in Forestry from
University of Agricultural Science Dharwad,
Karnataka and Doctoral Degree in Agroforestry form Dr. Y.S Parmar
University of Horticulture and Forestry Nauni, Solan, Himachal
He received merit scholarship from UAS, Dharwad during Master’s. He was also recipient of INSPIRE fellowship from Government of India for a period of four years.
Dr. B. Harish Babu is an Assistant Professor of
Agroforestry in the Department of Silviculture and Agroforestry. He
completed Master of Science in Forestry from College of Forestry,
University, his M.Sc. work was on “Effect of Plant Growth Regulators
on Growth Performance of stem cuttings of Terminalia
arjuna (Roxb.) and Terminalia chebula (Retz)”, on his research work
he was awarded with best outstanding M.Sc.
Thesis Award Presented by Society for Agriculture Innovation &
Development, Ranchi, for outstanding contribution in
the field of Forestry.
Smt.Sailaja is an Assistant Professor in Entomology
with 9 years of Research, Teaching and Extension experience in
Indian Council of Agricultural Research Institutes and State
She worked with ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research (Directorate of Rice Research), Hyderabad in estimation of temperature thresholds and thermal constants for development and survival of rice leaf folder, rice plant hoppers (BPH & WBPH) which could be used for development of phenology models for forecasting the pests.
Mr. Jagadeesh pursued his B.Sc. (Hons.)
Horticulture degree in College of Horticulture, Mojerla, Dr. YSRHU,
later he started his scientific career by studying Masters in Plant
University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka where he
worked on “Management of block rot of Cabbage caused by
Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris”.
For his Doctoral degree, Jagadeesh joined in Gobind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology where he worked on “Epidemiology and Management of downy mildew caused on Vegetable Pea caused by Peronospora viciae f. sp. pisi”.
Dr. Sreekumar is a wildlife biologist and completed
his B. Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, M. Sc. Forestry and Ph. D. Forestry
from Kerala Agricultural University.
He specialised in wildlife science during post-graduation.
He was worked on the impact of climate change on the montane specialised endemic birds of the Western Ghats, India during Ph. D programme. He has been awarded the KSCSTE Research Fellowship by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment.
Dr. Kapil is an Assistant Professor of Wood Science
and Technology with more than 3 years of research and teaching
experience in various universities/research institutes in India.
He possesses meritorious academic record in field of Wood Science and Technology.Prior to joining forest college and research institute, he worked as Assistant Professor in college of agricultural sciences, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun.
is an Assistant professor of Wood Science and Technology with more
than 3 years of research and teaching experience in various
universities in India and abroad.
He received his Bachelor of Science (Forestry) from College of Forestry, Dapoli, Maharashtra and Master of Science (Wood Science and Technology) from Forest Research Institute, Dehradun He received his Ph.D. from University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia.
Dr. Reeja is working as an Assistant Professor at
Forest College and Research Institute, Telangana. She has 6 years of
Teaching, Research and Extension experience.
Her subjects of expertise include Tree Genetics,Tree Breeding and
Improvement with special focus on clonal forestry and
She has also worked extensively on the improvement of Bio-diesel crop Jatropha. She started her career in 2009 as SMS at KVK, Vriddhachalam, TNAU.
is an Assistant Professor in the department of Tree Breeding and
Improvement, Forest College and Research Institute, Hyderabad at
Mulugu. She worked extensively on physiological, bio-chemical and
molecular responses of potential biofuel plant Jatropha
curcasto salt, drought and metal stress conditions
Her research work provides insights into detoxification of reactive carbonyl (methylglyoxal) and metals where she was successful in functional characterization of key genes including aldo-ketoreductase, glyoxalases and metallothionein.
has completed his BSc (Hons.) Forestry from Kerala Agricultural
University, MSc (Forestry) in Forest Genetic Resources from
University of Agricultural Sciences – Dharwad (Sirsi) and PhD
(Forestry) Forest Biology and Tree Improvement from Kerala
Her research work provides insights into detoxification of reactive carbonyl (methylglyoxal) and metals where she was A gold medalist in the Masters’ programme, he has been awarded the coveted INSPIRE Junior Research Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Dr. Priya is an Assistant Professor of Forest
Ecology in the department of Forest Ecology and Climate Science.
Her M.Sc. work was “Vegetative propagation of Pittosporum
floribundum through cuttings under mid hill conditions of
and Ph.D. thesis work was on “Growth, regeneration and propagation
studies of Olea glandulifera.
She received merit scholarship for her master’s research as well as DST INSPIRE fellowship for her doctoral research. She has more than 15 national and international publications. She has co-authored one book.
Mrs. N. S. Srinidhi
is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Sciences in the
department of Forest Ecology and Climate Science.
She has completed her Post Graduation in Environmental Sciences from
the Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Presently she is pursuing her Ph.D. from
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
She ranked second in her M.Sc. Examination at the University level.
She has more than three years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Science and Technology, where she taught Environmental Studies and Disaster Management.
Mr. Sampath Kumar is working as a Librarian at
Forest College and Research Institute, Mulugu. He has more than 3
years of experience as an Information Assistant.
He had earlier worked as Information assistant at IIT Madras,
Chennai and R.V.M. Medical College, Mulugu, Telangana State.
He received his Masters of Library and Information Science from Kakatiya University and Postgraduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (P.G.D.L.A.N) from University of Hyderabad.
Dr.K. Prabhu working as a Physical Director /
Sports Officer FCRI, Hyderabad @ Mulugu.
He has 12 years in Schools, 24 years in Junior/ Degree & PG Colleges
experience. Organising Secretary – SGFI-19 period (2008-2009).

Mr. Anma Naresh
working as a Physical Education Teacher Forest College and Research
